| Our values are the things we aspire to and they serve as guidelines to keep us focused on whats really important!
The Relationship Value
We affirm that Christianity in its purest form is about a close, intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This lordship and friendship relationship with God is the key that unlocks our ability to nurture a healthy relationship within ourselves and, ultimately, with others. We desire to be a church built on inclusive friendships.
The Family Value
We affirm that the family, in all its biblical forms, is by Gods design the place where we can achieve our greatest fulfillment in life. Because of the fallen state of the human race, however, it is also the place where we can experience the deepest disappointment. For this reason, our church desires to serve as a resource center for the needs of the contemporary family.
The Grace Value
We affirm that the central theme of Christian belief is grace, that is, Gods unconditional love for us. We believe that God is more concerned about our hearts than He is "rules" and that He loves us, accepts us and forgives us "no matter what". Spiritual growth comes from discovering this grace and from nurturing an intimate relationship with Him.
The Life-Change Value
We affirm that the way we experience life-change is through the supernatural power of the scriptures. When we, by abandoning our lives to God, take the timeless truths of the Bible and apply them in a practical way in our everyday lives, we experience wonderful things that defy human explanation and understanding. This leads us to expressions of love toward others.
The Journey Value
We affirm that while the Christian life is a life of victory, it is also a journey filled with personal struggle and failure. Although we fall short time and time again, it is our desire to be authentic, real, transparent and genuine. It is through our humility and confession before God and others that He is able to take our weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
The Relevance Value
We affirm the importance of expressing the unchanging truths of Christianity in a way that relates to our modern culture and, specifically, to our unique community. Our heart is to show hospitality and "speak the language" of the people outside our church who want to investigate the teachings of Jesus with us, regardless of where they are on the road of life. Furthermore, we desire to address the needs and be sensitive to the preferences of those outside our church family, over and above our own.
The Competency Value
We affirm the importance of doing ministry with the highest level of competency. It is our goal to be a "user-friendly" church that shows sincerity, integrity and class. We desire professionalism (not perfectionism or "performance"), knowing that doing things well motivates people and honors God.
The Life-Mission Value
We affirm the importance of helping people discover their unique giftedness and God-given mission for their lives and we desire to inspire and equip them to accomplish it. We affirm that every member of the church family is a minister and that the most effective way to do ministry is through teamwork.
We also affirm that only those who have the
spiritual gift of leadership, male and female,
should serve in church leadership positions. We value the importance of unity and servant leadership within our church family.
The Outreach Value
We affirm that outreach to our community and beyond is to be "the strong right arm" of our church. Our desire is to be outward-focused, not inward-focused, part of a larger movement of Gods love. This is realized through intentional outreach to the unchurched and "dischurched" in our community, as well as through planting new churches and sharing our successes with other ministries.
The Prayer Value
We affirm prayer as the basis for worship and praise to God. While we strive to be goal-oriented, faithful, innovative and creative in our desire to spread His love to others, we know that it is God alone, not our human endeavor, that brings individual and corporate growth. Through the vehicle of prayer we can come boldly into His presence and find refuge, wisdom and confidence.
